About

L. Ann Claypool

L. Ann Claypool has been a storyteller since toddlerhood, when she developed the delightful habit of narrating her days out loud. She grew up in the southwest until the age of 8, when her family moved to the Pacific Northwest. (She still hasn’t gotten used to the rain.) In college, she studied creative writing and English literature before succumbing to the family occupation of teaching. She has taught secondary English and elementary school, but she never stopped telling stories (the voices in her head insist on being heard). She writes contemporary fiction with a fantastical edge. Her agent is Katie Reed, of the Andrea Hurst Literary Agency. MY SOUL TO KEEP is her debut novel. L. Ann Claypool lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, children, and numerous pets.
